Default 1st time soft time install

well ive been waiting for some good weather (NO Rain) to get my soft top installed. today might be that day. My soft top has never been installed and I don't see any instructions on how to install it. I have been on utube and see videos on how to put the top up and down but nothing on the initial install, ie where to install the plasitc peices and how. Does anyone know of any good sites for this? I am sure I can figure it out but I also don't want to spend 5 hours doing it ...LOL.

thanks

If you take your time and lay all of the pieces out its really not that bad to put it on. Your owners manual explains it pretty well to. I watched a vid on you tube but didnt help too much. Also helps to have someone give you a hand the first time. Good luck

Where abouts are you. Its always easier if you have someone show you the right way the first time. Believe me, I drove around for a while with the windows in wrong until a kind JKer showed me the right way. I like to pass on the karma lol. I got a dvd with my Jeep that showed you how to install it. The same video is on Youtube. But yea try to get someone close to you to help out. It takes half an hour tops!

thanks guys/gals. I got it on, it was hard but I think only becuase its brand new and wasn't super hot out so its very tight still. But its on. I noticed one thing when driving you get a wind noise on the front , is that normal or do I have somthing installed wrong?

will find out when it rains too I guess if it doesn't leak.

Your lucky yu got a no rain day, I am still waiting for one to do the same. It will be more noisy with the soft top, depending how fast your going too for wind noise, if you drive under the speed limit or even at it its not too bad, but like most on the road the speed limit signs are just a suggestion.

First time putting on my 2010's softop last weekend. Major issues with one of the "bars". The one that goes over the driver's door is bent. Never used it, stored upwards, and now the dealer is telling me I bent it. Tomorrow 730 am, the fireworks are beginning with the GM of the dealership.

good luck. They are pretty sturdy plastic, Well the 2011's are and I think they are a little different then the the 2010's as the 2011 don't have that edge clip anymore. Wonder what they charge for a new one ?

Hey Nicker22,

Ya, nice we finally got some NO RAIN in the GTA here...feels good to rock the Jeep topless and doorless again.

Good to see others are going topless....drove home yesterday topless, only to pass 12 JK's (yes I counted) with their tops on and AC on. Geeewiiizzzz.

Sounds like you got the soft top under control, for reference here's a link that may help you out....don't worrie, a few times up and down and you will be a pro...setting a land speed record when needed....the threat of rain...been there!!

The DVD that came with my jeep was a huge help. Kept the laptop in the garage and just paused every instruction.
