Canada Wheels Sizes

Hello Folks,

I've got a 02 WJ that needs new wheels. Its got the 17", 5 spoke, chrome clad wheels that are common on the V8 modles. I've been looking for four identical wheels in new condition (For a resonable price) but have had no luck. Really, I would only need three wheels because I have a brand new spare in the back. Anyway, looking to upgrade to 18" rims and tires. Anyone have the maximum specs. for tires that I can use on an 18" rim. I don't want my wheels rubbing in the fender wells. Also, can anybody recommend a good place here in Ontario to buy aftermarket rims? If have any pics of your WJ with 18" rims, could you send them my way? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Aaron

Default Re: Wheels Sizes

On a WJ with stock suspension (no lift) the max tire size is around a 245/75-16. Even with this size you may have slight tire rub when in reverse and turning the wheels. The equivalent size for a 18" would be:

245/75-16 245/55-18
Sidewall: 6.3" 5.3"
Radius: 14.3" 14.3"
Diameter: 28.5" 28.5"
Circumferance: 89.7" 89.7"
Revs/Mile: 707 705

So if your just looking to fill the wheel well then 16" would be cheaper but if your going for the bling then I wouldn't go larger than that unless your interested in putting in a 2" lift.

Yes I was very bored at work today. :)
