West Hi From Aussie - Western Australia

Hi all - newbie here. Got 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and became enthused about the brand. Now in short time, upgraded to 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo. I have had three Land Rover Discoverys and apart from the sissy wheel nuts compared to the Discos, and the lack of decent V8 sound from the exhaust (like the Discos) I am satisfied so far.

Driver’s seat outer side has collapsed, steering wheel gel has collapsed and front tweeters are crackling - oh, and the four door inner plastic panels have come away from the doors at the top in particular! Apart from these issues.... all good! Would value any comments regards ten issues I have though - like, are these typical WJ probs?? And any advice as to resolution of the issues.

Regards - from up to 46'C at the moment!!

The canadians are a reserved community and don`t communicate a lot I have had one responce although a nice responce. You can fix your exhaust by fitting a BORLA. I can`t see the issue with wheel nuts our brit designers built a crap 4x4 thinking it was a tractor. Front tweeters are useless thats a given, Fit new and adjust stereo. You got a Laredo, thats what the panels do in that temp. You get air con issues, electrical issues, suspensiion issues and engine issues at the end of the day it`s a truck but are usually sorted easily. Change your oil regular don`t use fully synthetic you need semi. Change your internal water thermostat when the engine appears to get hot quickly but runs normal so you don`t get the "tick" causing overheated cam and tappets. Be ---- about all oil changes/services and the truck will last, ignore, DOH!

Welcome to the site, I just can't get used to that kind of heat. I'm ready to go hide at 25C!
Check out WJJeeps.com - Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ 1999-2004 for relocation of your tweeters, the rest sounds like overheating issues. The thin plastic door panels probably were never designed for those temps.
