97 5.2 Limited Power Programmer
Can someone help?I want to get more power in my ZJ. I was thinking of Hypertech programmer but on their site they don't have a 5.2 zj on the list they have a 4.0 zj and they have a Durango 5.2 I heard that people have installed it 5.2 zj's. Does anybody know?I already have a cold air intake a throttle body spacer exhaust .Maybe there is a better way to spend $350 a Hypertech programmer?

I love my turbo's. lol theres actually a supercharge kit for a jeep but it only pushes out 6 psi which is all the stock internals can handle. I should get some dyno's and pics up of my engine. Used a stock block. Put edlebrock 360 heads, redid my intake and put a custom turbo set in. Used forged steel pistons. Dyno's at an easy 400hp running on 8psi. Can push up too 22psi without blowing anything. Fun times :D

Well actually it's a twin turbo... it allows alot more leniency on how the assisted air can be rammed in. My bud had a chipped and cold air on a 5.9 but had no engine bay room for much else so i set out to destroy his jeep and i succeeded. Although his off line was alot nicer but when my turbo's spooled it was game over. Still in testing stages and im pretty sure the longevity of the block is done but whatever jeeps are selling for cheaps these days and ill just buy another block and do it again.

Well schaades, I hate to tell you this but you can run 5-22 psi on a Jeep (1.33L-1.7L equivalent) all depends on how much you have in the bank account.
You could also stroke a 4.0L up to a 5.2 and send the SRT-8 back to the garage with it's tail between it's legs. (so to speak) :)
NOS, Turbo's, Superchargers, Engine Builds are all good just depends on how much you want to spend and how you want to get there.

Believe me i know. This was my personal experience with my engine. Thats the great thing of customizing everyone can do what they want and end up with amazing results. My engine rebuild only cost about two grand. Used turb's off a tuned 300zx, welded my own intake, own header kit, BOV etc. I used to use a stroked 4.0 until i blew it up... hehe. Thats mostly why i love jeeps i can do whatever whenever and they seem to hold up just fine.

I guess we really should answer John's original question huh? lol
John if you've got the intake and I'm assuming the catback exhaust, about the only thing for around 350 would be a programmer. (Hypertech,Superchips,Banks) if your feeling daring with your money there's Jet Chips. For a couple bucks more there's alway's MSD ignitions, coils, spark enhancers. You might even luck out and find a good camshaft that's in your price range.
You can also install a electric fan and loose the mechanical one, that will gain you between 10-15 HP
Now, on with the hijacking.
