To all owners of the 1991 to 2006 Jeep grand cherokees.
I wish to ask a question.
My 93 jgc one day decided to show an on light on the dash , like an exclamation point.
I didn't think anything of it initially, but it turned to to be a failing ecu and alt.
Funny thing, and i think this may set Jeeps apart from other cars and trucks.(I could be wrong) .This light was on when i started the Jeep but initially didn't result in any problems.
It took about 1 week before I noticed the alt meter start dropping in voltage.
I eventually had to rev the engine to say 1700 rpm to get the charge needle to go back to 14 volts. This lasted a few days.
And finally it stopped charging. I then had to take my Baby to the repair shop to get the alt and ecu changed out. MY point here is , i was NOT stranded on the road and didn't need a tow truck because the JEEPS systems just failed, it gave me a warning.
Maybe im reading this event wrong but at the time my Jeeps systems didn't leave me stranded.

Any one with comments on this? I would love to know what the story with others is.
Perhaps mine was a total fluke.
I don't know.
