Left rear flasher not working.
Hello All.
Im new to the forum and really need help with something.
My rear left turn signal wont work. The bulb is fine. There is no corrosion or dirt. When i put the flasher the front ones flash twice as fast. I tried testing if there was any current and there was none. I did the test on the right side and current got there.
Any ideas at what i should start looking at before i get suckered at a garage.
I have a 98 XJ 4.0.
thank you.
I am afraid someone will rear end me on the highway since i cant show them im merging.

Re: Left rear flasher not working.
For electrical shorts there is no easy fix. Your going to have to start from the bulb and work ur way back looking for a bare or cut wire, possible touching a metal part and shorting out. Sorry not much help.

I agree with Kevin. Grab a voltmeter/Ohmsmeter and just go down the line to see where the power is being lost. It may be the turn signal relay but I'd put my money on a short. I think it's blinking twice as fast because it's either cooked or knows that the rear one is grounded. A stereo shop may be able to help you out with this for less cost. Just a thought.
