not sure why it took me so long
Always liked Jeeps but for some reason or another just never took the plunge. Was visiting my son and I had the notion of either a truck or a Jeep, as we were driving we passed by a dealership and figured we'd take a look.Needless to say seeing my 12 year old son smiling from ear to ear in the backseat, during the test drive, I was sold.
40 days and 5500 kms later thinking this was the best vehicle purchase I have ever made. From Quadratec I purchased the Bestop 2-piece soft doors and the clover patch window roll (one of the best purchases for traveling in my opinion keeps windows secure and handy just in case of rain), I also added Smittybilt sidebars and relocated the side mirrors.
My next upgrade will be the tires just trying to figure out what I will really need, but I have found that the stock tires were not overly great in the mud. If anybody has any suggestions I would love to hear them, thank you
If I see ya I will always wave!

Hey Slymer nice Jeep! Welcome to the family.
In my younger days I ran pick ups, nothing else. Three years ago while test driving a Jeep, an on comming TJ waved at me. Haven't looked back since....will add another Jeep to the driveway when the right one comes along, don't get to drive this one enough... somedays I go into withdrawal.

Ahoy Slymer
You'll have to keep in the loop of the pro's and con's of your new Wrangler, especially "workable" aftermarkets. I'm on the lots "auditioning" 2011's, was sold on a new Mountain til the salesman let slip they maybe bringing back the Islander. Said you didn't like the tires in the mud, we talkin' the "deep s**t" or just the "unmaintained road" sorta stuff? Appreciate any words of widsom your willing to pass on.

Re: not sure why it took me so long
The road was just a unmaintained dirt road actually and we just got lots of rain so it was only 5 inches of mud. I put on Wrangler duratracs and since then hasn't rained :(. it is more or less a daily driver so I didn't feel I needed a overly aggressive tire (but it did give the jeep a nicer look though), however winter is coming and I looking forward to playing in the snow LOL
