New XJ In Thunder Bay
Hey I'm new to the Jeep world and hooked already. I have a 2000 XJ Sport, only real mod is a K&N Cold Air Intake, other mods include duct tape to prevent chaffing on my upper rad hose and a support rock 'n' roll magnet! lol
I would like to eventually lift it a few inches and put some real mud tires on it, roof lights would be cool, exo cage would be really cool, sticker reading "It's my daily driver if I roll it I'm screwed" would be highly appropriate but gas in the tank is this weeks real goal.
I live in Thunder Bay Ontario for aviation college and it would be awesome if I could find some people to show me some cool spots around the Thunder Bay area and generally give me some pointers, I'm new and I'm here to learn!

Re: New XJ In Thunder Bay
I mostly wheel with my quad, so I know a few good areas. I live out in South Gillies out toward the boarder in the mountains. Lot of nice places out here. At the moment my Jeep is primarily used for bad weather and snow storms but once it gets a little older it'll see some more aggressive wheelin'.

7.5 klm to Kivela road west (we call it the pit road) all kinds of wheelin up there, the road goes over 10klm in and has many logging road off shoots. hope you have a winch cause you can find some nastey stuff in there.
OR drive another 1 klm (8.5klm from 608) to Kotala road ,this road will take you to even more logging roads and if you have a GPS you can find your way up to a little lake in the mountains called Falling Snow Lake. Many many rough trails and very serious climbs up in there.
PM me if you want more specific directions...

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks again, Me and a couple friends went up to Falling Snow Lake today and did a little shore fishing. Didn't catch anything, and the weather was crap, but that's an awesome area and a beautiful lake!
Funny enough we passed by a newer black JK Sahara Unlimited that looked an awful lot like your avatar on the highway 608 part of the trip back into the city.
