New Jeep Owner: Old Jeep. Advice Anyone?
Just picked up a 2004 TJ Rocky Mountain Edition with 81,000km on it. Bought it mostly for the low kms(for the year). Gotta say, I LOVE this thing. So much more fun than the quad or the Chevy; and i can bring my kids with me!
Had to replace starter, seal on rear diff, and stabilizer links. I think she's pretty tight now, and i will be changing fluids in transfer case, transmission and front diff. in the next week or so.
As I've never had one of these before, just hoping you all might have some advice about what type of components are likely to fail at this stage of her life. Bought her off a younger guy, i can tell by the under carriage (and the fact that the stabilizer links were busted) that she's probably seen some hard miles; definitely some off road use including deep mud.
I live in Grande Prairie, Alberta and I'm also looking for some where to go and someone to go with, so if you're looking for a partner, or know of a club, please let me know.
Thanks Everybody;
Vinnie
