Just Bought a New JK Unlimited Sahara
Just Bought a New JK Unlimited Sahara,
Already looking for 33" to 35" tires and a 4" lift.
Had a Jeep Comanche 10 years back, loved it, but it didn't fit the family.
Been off-roading for years.
Live near Lingham Lake!

Hey, congrats on the new wheels with the 4-doors. Same here, fits the family model really well.
Wow waste no time on larger meats and lift. Good luck!
You'll need to get use to waving now

Gee , Lingham Lake. I haven't been up that way since I had my 79 CJ-5 !! Can you still drive into the lake ? Is that ski lodge still there ? Drove the power line up there a couple times too !!

Not sure now about the choice of the Sahara over the Rubicon.
We were looking for a while, honest answer it just arrived, it was a stick, it fit the kids, the solid colour was great, (we call it Harley Orange) and with the tow package and 3.73 gearing, I was thinking best of both worlds.
Likely never to go over 35" tires, if I do we will regear maybe swap out front axle.
But who knows what we will do next. I'm thinking lift first.
There is still a southern route to Lingham lake, just have to be careful of water levels or snorkel it. Almost drowned my 1999 f150 in "johnsons hole" couple days after a good rain.
I'm thinking the ski club is now a monistary.

It does come down to what you and the Jeep will be doing. The Rubi is out of the box off the show room floor for the person who will be wheeling more then the average owner. Is the Rubi best for daily driver in city traffic? The 4:10's will not help your MPG, and if you are not going to use the D44's Front and Rear, Lockers and the 4:1 T-case over kill.
That said I've seen some 'Built up' Sahara's that look bad a$$, and perform just as well as a Rubi on the trails. (driver skill) By that I mean rear locker, D30 axle tubes to iner-C reinforcements and 35's.
At the end of the day we all drive Jeeps, regadrless of trim, that's the best part of all.
Enjoy your new ride!
