Hello canada
Hello Canada, from your southern neighbor. I just wanted to say hi and of course ask a question. I'm about to purchase a 88 yj which was manufactured in Canada. I am trying to determine which transmission it has, because the seller is not sure.
My research indicates that it either has a BA-10, or a AX-15, Novak Conversions website states that in mid year 88, they started putting the AX-15 into Jeeps. Stock Information from other websites state the BA-10 was used in Jeeps through 88, and the AX-15 did not start until 89.
So my question is, is there anyway to determine through the vin what tranny I have, or do I just need to wait and look at the tranny when I receive it? I have looked at vin decoders, and they just give me a generic description of the tranny.
I can't wait to get my Jeep, and thanks to anyone who replies.
