Homemade Cold Air Intake

Thanks in advance.

Just my "thought"....seeing it is a Jeep and we might have a chance to go threw a stream or two just take into account where that cold air is coming from. Hydraulic lock on the engine is no fun !! Personally I like the look of those snorkle tubes up the passenger side window even though I have no entension of getting the bumper wet !! LOL

Re: Homemade Cold Air Intake
I've built one, there is a few ways of doing one, ultra cheap, kinda cheap and going all out and probably spending more than buying a Cold Air Intake kit...
cheap way is use your factory 90, and getting a piece of pipe, and attaching a high flow fliter to it stick it wherever you want...
My first cold air intake I used a high flow 90, a short piece of pipe, a 22 bend to set the fliter between the radiator and headlight
Air flows into the radiator, and is pretty much force into about 25% of the filter... pretty nice...
soo thats what i put together... worked REALLY good...
And i've crossed a few rivers with it... its called fording, not FLYING thru a river lol... so long you dont splash all over your hood your fine...
I wouldn't recommend buying a K&N filter, their not much of a filter lol

AEM, their super tough, dont have to be oiled, and have a pretty decent filter media compared to K&N... id only put in a K&N if you didn't care about your jeep and just wanted power... they flow like theres nothing there (cause its not really stopping anything...)
