Cb radio channels ?
Just put a CB in the jeep. Are there any common CB Channels used for jeeps. Thinking back in the 70s when CB was very popular. The 4x4s used 4x4 = Channel 16. I know the truckers around the maritimes use ch1 Any channel info would be appreciated.
Thanks Gary

Naa I think its just up to what ever you and your club decide when your off in the boonies. For us we use 5 for base communications and depending on how many groups are out each one has its own channel so as not to confuse with the other groups. And far enough aways so as not to cross channel each other.

Where did you mount the cb, I have been wondering where to mount it in the jeep, may be you have a pic of it. Give some of us idea's of a good place. Where u tapped in for power and antenna mount.

Hi Mr. White,
My CB fits just nice under the dash. As close to the center as I can get it. And I just put a mike hook on the side. There are still lots of leg room for any passengers. For now I’m just using Cigarette lighter supply for power. In time I may just run a wire to the + of the battery with a fuse and ground the other. So far for power I just use the The antenna I mounted just behind the spare tire using a flat piece of steel I used at bolt used to hold the trid brake light. So I didn’t even have to make a new hole. And I also used a heavy spring and a quick disconnect so I can remove the antenna easy.

Re: Cb radio channels ?
Just finished putting one in the new JK myself. Gotta have one for wheelin.....
As for channels, yes 19 is the "trucker" channel and 9 is considered emergency. After that which ever doesn't have alot of traffic. We usually used 10 when wheelin the zed's
