Selling your rims? Here’s some cleaning tips
If you’re trying to sell your rims and tires, giving them a good thorough clean can help you fetch top dollar. With the help of Autoglym Clean Wheels, Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner and Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing, it can help remove tough baked on dirt and brake dust from your rims to help them look their best.
Before cleaning, make sure you determine the finishing of your rims.
Begin by working in a shaded environment, using a high-pressure hose to blast off any easy to remove build ups.
Next you want to apply Autoglym Clean Wheels to the wheel surface and tires, giving it a generous and even coating.
Using a soft stiff brush, agitate and work the solution, make sure to pay attention to small areas where it may be hard to reach (Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner can also be applied to tire side walls to remove dirt and old dressings).
As the inner rim barrel is less often cleaned, apply a generous amount of Custom Wheel Cleaner and let the solution work for a few minutes before brushing.
Once you’re happy with the result, simply hose off and check for any missed or tough to reach areas.
For extra detailing, shake and apply a light coat of Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing to the sidewall of your wet or dry tires. You can either allow the product to dry for a light sheen, or remove the excess with a clean microfibre for a matte finish.
